About Me:
My name is Zen Huggett (they/them), and I’m an activist and writer in Chicago. I’m currently studying English and Political Science at Loyola University. I have served in several advocacy roles. I founded Holland, Michigan’s hub of the Sunrise Movement, a national youth-led climate justice organization, and served as its director until January of 2023. I’ve also served as the political coordinator of Joseph Alfonso’s congressional campaign and the social media coordinator for the Michigan Collaborative to End Mass Incarceration (MI-CEMI). My current advocacy engagement is in abolition, addressing homelessness, and fighting for robust policy to mitigate the climate crisis. My favorite advocacy project is my Environmental Racism Simulation, an interactive simulation that provides comprehensive education about environmental racism. It’s great for non-profit, corporate, conference, and community education use! I have published writing on my blog. My reading list can be found on my Goodreads profile.
